Space Man Platformer, solo game project

The idea for this game was that you play as a spaceman who works at the Oil Oasis, in which your job is to travel to other nearby islands to fill up the Oil Oasis express vending machines.

I made this level of the game as my final university project, as this was a learning experience for me to teach myself how to make character models intended to be animated, experiment with animations inside UE4 as well as learn some blueprint to get a better understanding of the engine when working with 3D assets.

This has helped me have better practice when making as well as exporting assets, such as correctly working with centre points and scales of the assets I create.

All 3D assets are seen in this project I made myself, as well as the small amount of blueprint making the menu screens work and the character movement.
Animations were sourced from Mixamo.com.
Skybox from UNEASY Games - Blueprints (found in the unreal engine asset store)

Inspiration for the store was taken from the store Gar's Hero Supply & Bodega, which is seen in the show O.K K.O. I appreciated how the store seemed to have so much life with ads in the window, which pull you into the world of the show. Inspiration for the top of the building was taken from The Simpsons episode Bart Vs Thanksgiving, which depicts the Simpons' house with toys on the roof, showing the years that have gone past in the eyes of the kids, with Bart rediscovering them. I added items to the top of the store, such as the binoculars, showing that the Spaceman, in his downtime, may sit up there with the binoculars, looking out into space, allowing the player to get an understanding of the Spaceman without him having any dialogue.
